Bridgend Ravens are delighted to announce the signing of outside half Luke Price.

Price will re-unite to play under his former team mate at the Ospreys, Tom Smith, after a stint in France with Valance Romans Drone Rugby.

He’d previously spent seven years at the Ospreys where he played 64 times for the region. He came through the player pathway programme at the region, playing Premiership rugby for Neath and Bridgend.

The former Wales u20s ten had nailed down his position as the regions’ first choice outside half, but a hip injury halted his progress which resulted in a long lay off. Despite returning successfully from injury, he decided to part ways with the Swansea based side at the end of 2021.

In a bid to further his career, Luke moved to France to join up with Valance, where he scored 172 points in 22 games last campaign.

Luke has previously featured for Bridgend Ravens on permit, making two appearances in 2014 against Aberavon and Cardiff, and he’s looking forward to donning the blue and white again this campaign. “I’m excited to get started with Bridgend. There’s an ambitious group of boys here and a very experienced coaching group that want to do very well this season.

I’m looking forward to the opportunity of being part of it this year and really think it’s a place I can improve as a player.”

Head Coach, Tom Smith, was delighted with the capture of Price, saying “We’re really happy we’ve been able to secure Luke’s services. I’ve worked with him before, he’s a good bloke and somebody who has a great understanding of the game.

His experience of playing in the pro game at the Ospreys and more recently in France will stand us in good stead. He’s already having a big impact in training, not only bringing a controlling voice but demanding high standards from the rest of the squad. He’s a great addition and someone who I think our young 10’s can learn a great deal from.”
