17 Jun Bridgend Ravens re-sign Jack Pope
Bridgend are delighted to announce the signing of second row Jack Pope from Pontypridd.
The 24-year-old from Pencoed represented Bridgend as a teenager. The Bridgend College graduate has represented Wales at U16 and U20 level.
Pope signed for Pontypridd just before the COVID-19 pandemic but has decided to move back to his local club after just one full season at Sardis Road. Pope said “The persuading factors for joining is the club’s history, enjoyment within the environment and the apatite the club has for development, both on and off the pitch.
“Bridgend is a historic and thriving club. Being a Pencoed boy, Bridgend Ravens is my local Premiership club and it was my goal growing up as a child to play for the club. In returning to the Brewery, my personal intent to train and work hard over the summer has increased and I’m looking forward to starting with a new challenge.
“The main ambitions for me at the club are to continue to develop, learning off new coaches and taking in different ideals around the game. Combined, being presented a new challenge at the club. A club in which wants to improve across all areas and challenges to push on, hopefully being a part of this is a key focus point for me.”
Team Manager Ed Griffith commented on the signing “We are really glad to have Jack back with us. We were sorry to see him go in the first place. He is an intelligent and experienced Premiership player who started playing for us at 17. Jack will be a great addition to the squad for the up-and-coming season.”
