Ben Thomas signs for Bridgend Ravens

Bridgend Ravens are pleased to announce the signing of utility forward Ben Thomas from Aberavon.

Thomas who can play in the second row or back row signs from the Wizards after having three spells with the club. The 32-year-old Tondu RFC product will bring plenty of experience into the Ravens squad this season.

The move represents a homecoming for Thomas, who has appeared several times for Bridgend Ravens between 2010 and 2012. Ben has also previously represented Wales at U18s and U20s level as well as featuring in the Ospreys Academy.

Ben commented on signing for the club, “It’s a great opportunity to come back and play for my hometown club. I have some very fond memories of pulling on the Ravens jersey and definitely feel like there’s some unfinished business.

I’m very much looking forward to linking up with the squad. Bridgend always have an abundance of talent and it’s exciting to see some quality signings ahead of the new season, including the appointment of Tom who I’m really looking forward to working with. The brewery field is a great place to call home and it’s been a tough place to go and play the last 10 years, so it will be great to be finally back in the home changing room.

I’m looking forward to sharing some of my experience with some of the talented youngsters in the squad and definitely feel like we’re building something special not just for the upcoming season but beyond.”
