29 Apr Team to face Llandovery (A)
There’s a short turnaround as Bridgend are back on the road for the final game of the season with Llandovery on Saturday afternoon (2:30pm).
It’s Interim Head Coach Alun Wyn Davies’ final game in charge and he will be looking to sign off in style at Church Bank. The Ravens were in action last on Wednesday when they came away with a fine victory, beating Ebbw Vale by 11pts to 7. This followed the 17pts to 13 win against Aberavon which secured back to back wins for the club for the first time since December 2019.
Llandovery have won their last three games all away from home; a 29pts to 28 win at Aberavon, a 38pts to 12 win at Carmarthen and a 36pts to 29 success against Llanelli.
The sides have met twice this season; both in the Indigo Premiership Cup and they are locked at one win each. Bridgend won at Church Bank by 25pts to 19 and the Drovers won at the Timbuild Brewery Field by 27pts to 7.
With just a three day turnaround between fixtures, Alun Wyn Davies makes ten changes, along with two positional switches to his starting lineup. Cai Evans, Edd Howley and Dewi Cross make up the back three, with captain Nathan Edwards returning to the starting lineup alongside Joseph Gatt in the centre. Paul Short retains his place at outside half, with Harri Morgan at 9.
It’s all change in the front row, with Rhodri Apsee, Lee Murphy and Ben Warren selected. Bowen Davies and Kieran Martin continue their partnership in the second row. Morgan Strong, Rob Dudley Jones and Aled Evans are the back row.
