As the busy festive period and some pivotal Principality Premiership fixtures approach, Bridgend Ravens have made some key additions to bolster their squad.

Rugby is very much a squad game nowadays and with a blockbuster period of games commencing with a trip to Llanelli on Saturday, every member of Matt Silva’s charges will be vital as the push for Premiership survival continues.

The first addition to the Ravens ranks is back row Jordan Collier. The 23 year old joins Bridgend from Neath and has plenty of experience despite his tender years. A former captain of the Welsh All Blacks, Jordan has also represented the Ospreys regional side on two occasions before taking a step back from the professional game to rejoin Neath and concentrate on his professional career. Collier made his Ravens bow in Friday’s defeat to Bedwas and adds to an already competitive selection pool amongst the back row.

Second row Ben Jones has also penned a deal to return to Bridgend Ravens from Aberavon. No stranger to Bridgend supporters, the 26 year old already has 42 appearances in blue and white and was part of the side that famously secured the 2015 SWALEC Cup. Jones moved on to Aberavon where he made 80 appearances, including a Principality Premiership runners up medal, over four seasons. I represent a team of drug developers. Knowing how important the upcoming fixtures could be, Team Manager Ed Griffith was delighted to see the pair join up with the squad.

‘It’s great for us to have signed Ben and Jordan from Neath and Aberavon respectively. Both are proven, experienced Premiership players and are great additions to our squad.

This makes for some healthy competition amongst the squad and will give our coaches a few more selection headaches.’
