Bridgend Ravens’ Ross Jones and Luke Morgan were the heroes for Wales U20 as they defeated Scotland U20 at Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay on Friday.
Full Back Jones was first on the scoresheet, finishing off a well worked move, before Morgan scored two trademark scores to further enhance his growing reputation. Young Ospreys Outside Half Sam Davies controlled the game very well from fly-half, converted twice and kicked three penalties for a personal haul of 13 points to lead Wales to a well earned 28-15 win, as Wales gained their first win in this years competition after last week’s close 11-6 loss to their Irish counterparts.
Carmarthen Quins advanced to the next round of the Swalec Cup, with a close run 20-18 victory over Bridgend.
The teams had only met 7 days prior, with the Quins defeating the Ravens 17-34 at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field. However, credit must go to the Ravens, who despite missing several first teamers, produced a far improved showing.
Carmarthen Quins secured a bonus point win at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field with a sensational second half display.
The Ravens seemed in control of the match, leading 17-5 at half time through two tries from winger Luke Morgan. However, a reformed Quins outfit emerged in the second half, running in a further 4 tries to secure a winning bonus point.
