Bridgend Ravens take a break from Principality Premiership action and head to Pontypool Park for a WRU National Cup Quarter Final clash tomorrow afternoon (2:30pm).
The Ravens, in much improved form with three wins from four games, head east to face the run away Championship leaders Pontypool for a place in the final four of this year's National Cup competition.
Bridgend overcame Newbridge in the last round in atrocious conditions by 21pts to 0, while Pooler downed Premiership side Cross Keys at Pandy Park 9pts to 12.
The sides haven't met since the 2011/12 season, where it was one win apiece. Bridgend prevailed 21pts to 23 at Pontypool Park thanks to a Dai Flanagan penalty and Pontypool emerged victorious 19pts to 27 from the game at the Brewery.
With Owen Howe cup tied, Ryan Evans takes over the 15 jersey in a back three with Mike Powell and Caine Woolerton. Morgan Jones and Nathan Edwards pair up in midfield with Jamie Murphy and Chris Williams at half back.
Bridgend will make a late call on the fitness of their front row with injuries decimating selection and Rhodri Apsee on international duty with Malta. Owen Jordan and Gareth Harvey are the nailed on starters with the tight head position to be announced. Jack Pope and Ben Jones continue in the second row; Jordan Collier, Aled Evans and Dafi Davies the back row selection. There’ll also be a late call on a tighthead replacement amongst Bridgend’s substitutes.
