BRIDGE V BRIDGE IN NATIONAL CUP LAST 16

By Aled Thomas | 08/01/2019

Bridgend Ravens have been handed a tricky trip to Championship side Newbridge in the last 16 of this season's WRU National Cup.

Having received a Bye in the opening round of the competition, the three time winners have joined the competition at the last sixteen stage where they'll lock horns with the Gwent side for the first time since 2005.

The meeting in 2005 saw the Ravens come out comprehensive 65pts to 10 winners in the Principality Premiership at the Brewery Field. The trip to the Welfare Ground earlier that season was also won by Bridgend 13pts to 3 and they'll hope for more of the same as they look to progress in this year's competition.

The fixture will be played on the weekend of the 26th January.
