POTM Nominees for April Announced

By Aled Thomas | 08/05/2018

The nominees for Bridgend Ravens Player of the Month for April have been announced.

It was another good month for the Ravens, with wins over Neath, Carmarthen, Swansea and Llanelli, coupled with narrow defeat to Merthyr which saw Bridgend climb the Prinicipality Premiership table.

Dafi Davies

Injury delayed Dafi’s debut for Bridgend, but he’s fitted right in to Bridgend’s squad and become a key figure in the recent resurgence. Man of the Match in the titanic battle with Carmarthen Quins, Dafi has made the number 8 jersey his own in recent weeks.

Another who was a standout performer in April’s improved results, Cai scored his first try for the club in his 125th appearance against Neath at the start of the month. He went on to feature in all five games during the month as Bridgend’s set piece continued to cause opposition problems.

Gareth Harvey

No stranger to the Player of the Month shortlist, the 31 year old has brought a wealth of experience to a young Ravens pack during his debut season. Harvey started during three victories during April and continues to play a big role in the pack’s improved showings.

Owain Lloyd

Three starts and one appearance from the replacements bench in a fine month for Owain Lloyd who has made the blindside flankers jersey his own during April. His efforts were best summed up in a dogged individual display in the 11-6 victory over Carmarthen Quins which was played out in tough conditions and one which the pack excelled.
