Team to face Swansea (H)

By Aled Thomas | 20/04/2018

Bridgend Ravens look for a fourth successive home victory when Swansea visit the Morganstone Brewery Field on Saturday afternoon (2:30pm).

The Ravens have tasted success at the Brewery against Newport, Neath and Carmarthen Quins in recent weeks, and will be looking to follow up the success over the Whites from earlier this season, when they won by 21pts to 19.

Swansea sit four points, and a place below the Ravens, who have two games in hand on their Ospreylian neighbours. They were thrashed by 45pts to 10 in their last league outing, a home reverse to high flying Merthyr. This followed a home defeat to Neath another defeat in the Whites' current run of nine in succession.

Bridgend know not to take the St Helen's men lightly. The Whites' first league win of the current campaign was against the Ravens; A 22pts to 6 victory in September. Two Cai Evans penalties were all the Ravens had to show for a dismal early season display.

Fresh from scoring his seventh try for the club since joining in December, Jonny Phillips retains his place at fullback, alongside Joseph Gatt and Michael Powell in a powerful back three. Stuart Floyd Ellis and Nathan Edwards pair up in the centre, with Ryan Evans and Chris Williams selected at half back.

Dafi Davies returns from injury at number 8 to partner Zac and Adam O'Driscoll in the back row. Shaun O'Rourke and Chris John are selected together once again, with Rhodri Apsee, Gareth Harvey and Cai Lewis in the front row.
