Team to face Cross Keys (A)

By Aled Thomas | 09/02/2018

Bridgend Ravens travel to Pandy Park for an early kick off on Saturday afternoon against Cross Keys (12:30pm).
After over a month without league action, the Ravens slumped to a 13-23 defeat at the Morganstone Brewery Field last time out. The game on Saturday kicks off a busy week for the Ravens, with a double header against Ebbw Vale (Tues 13 and Sat 17) at home to follow. The first clash on Tuesday evening is the re-arranged WRU National Cup fixture, with the second, on Saturday, a league clash kicking off at 2:30pm.
Cross Keys come into the game in good form. They progressed into the quarter finals of the National Cup by defeating Bedlinog before putting Neath to the sword at the Gnoll in last weekend's league fixture. It finished 15-41 in favour of Morgan Stoddart's charges, and he'll be looking to continue the impressive run when the Ravens visit on Saturday afternoon.
The sides played out twice last season - both sides winning one clash each. Bridgend won their home encounter at the Brewery Field by 29pts to16 with Keys narrowly winning the reverse on a cold evening at Pandy Park by 16pts to 13.
For Bridgend, Jon Phillips shakes off a knock to keep his place at fullback. Aaron Grabham and Gain Lougher are selected on the wing. Joseph Gatt returns from regional duty to partner Nathan Edwards in midfield, with youngsters Jacob Lloyd and Connor Tantum the half backs.
The Ravens back row comprises Matthew John, Adam and Zac O'Driscoll. Another returning from the call of the Ospreys is second row Kieran Martin who pairs up with Chris John. The front row is Owen Jordan, Gareth Harvey and Cai Lewis.
