Team to face Swansea at Morriston RFC (Friendly)

By Aled Thomas | 11/10/2017

Bridgend Ravens travel to Morriston RFC for a friendly with Swansea this evening, kicking off at 7:30pm.

With the league taking a break for the British and Irish Cup, Matt Silva is able to tinker with his squad to give some of the wider squad an opportunity to impress, alongside some new faces that get their chance to stake a claim for involvement later in the campaign.

Bridgend Athletic’s Dan James makes his first start for Bridgend at scrum half, with Dewi Lake, who came off the bench on Saturday at RGC at hooker. Matthew Phillips from Llanharan is a front row replacement, with Porthcawl’s Ben Asprea, Pencoed’s Rhys Clarke and Sam Berbillion of Ystrad Rhondda the other new faces amongst the replacements.

Bridgend XV:

15. Jacob Lloyd 14. Callum Powell 13. Garin Lougher 12. Morgan Jones 11. Ryan Griffiths 10. Joseph Scrivens 9. Dan James

1. Ollie Evans 2. Dewi Lake 3. Garyn Daniel 4. Chris John 5. Shaun O’Rourke 6. Tom Morgan 7. Adam O’Driscoll (capt) 8. Matthew John

Replacements: 16. Iestyn Merriman 17. Lewis Francis 18. Matthew Phillips 19. Ashton Evans 20. Ben Asprea 21. Rhys Clarke 22. Joseph Gatt 23. Sam Berbillion
