A last minute interception try from former Raven Mathew Edwards held Bridgend to a 12 all draw in their first 80 minutes of action as they prepare for the forthcoming Principality Premiership season.
Bridgend led 12-0 at halftime thanks to tries from Aaron Grabham and Ryan Evans. New signing Grabham showed his talents on the wing during the first half, bagging a debut try after 12 minutes which was converted by Ryan Evans.
Bridgend began to dominate the first half with a strong set piece and the pressure eventually told with Evans adding to his tally, squeezing through the Trebanos defence for the visitors second try.

A much changed Bridgend team for the second half will have been disappointed not to score. Owain Lloyd and Dan James combined well to break into the hosts’ 22 but Bridgend were lacking an end product. Further chances in the Trebanos 22 should have been finished but the Championship side's defence held out.
Heading into the last 15 minutes, Trebanos grabbed their first score with a try out wide, immediately the home side's confidence rose and they most grabbed a second. A neat cross kick to Matthew Edwards took a fine last ditch tackle from replacement fullback Tyler Williams to deny the wing a try.
Former Raven Edwards wasn't to be denied with the clock at 80. A looping pass from Joseph Scrivens was well read and the Trebanos wide man timed his effort perfectly to race over under the posts for the score. A simple conversion levelled the scores with the clock in the red.
A valuable first exercise of the season for Bridgend, seeing 32 players get a run out, as well as helping the players and coaches prepare for the season ahead. Bridgend travel to Reading next weekend to face Redingensians Rams and Barnes RFC in a round robin tournament before the Principality Premiership campaign kicks off with a trip to Aberavon on August Bank Holiday weekend.
