Bridgend Ravens suffered a nine tries to one Boxing day humbling at the hands of Llanelli at the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field.
The Ravens trailed by just four points at the break despite soaking up lots of Llanelli pressure. Joseph Scrivens landed an early penalty to edge the Ravens ahead before the visitors responded with the first try of the match.
A scrum penalty - an area the hosts struggled with all afternoon - allowed Llanelli to set up a five metre lineout drive that stormed over the line.
With 15 minutes on the clock, Dion Jones added Llanelli’s second score following another penalty that was kicked to touch. This time, a neat back move saw an overlap created and the winger was able to race over.
Bridgend added their only try of the match as the clock ticked towards 40. A deep clearance from Llanelli was run back with interest by Marc Bennett. The fullback made great yards through the heart of the Llanelli defence and kicked towards the corner where Michael Powell was able to gather the loose ball and dive over the line.
