Bridgend Ravens slipped to a last minute defeat in their second October friendly, at home to Llanelli.
The Ravens looked to have won the game with a late try from Number 8, Andrew Waite and a stunning conversion from James Dixon. However, Adam Powell popped up with an 81st minute score for the Scarlets, followed by the extras to steal the win from Bridgend.
With six minutes on the clock, Gareth Walters gave the visitors the lead with a penalty just inside the 22.
Not long after, Llanelli scored the first try of the match. A scrum close to the Ravens line was well held by Bridgend but Llanelli went wide. A smart kick through from Stuart Morris saw Justin James touch down in the corner. Walters converted to give Llanelli an early 10 point lead.
However, it didn't take long for Bridgend to respond. A Llanelli scrum close to halfway saw the ball squirt out as Adam O'Driscoll capitalised and broke away. The flanker offloaded to number 8 Andrew Waite, who came very close to scoring but was stopped just short. Quick recycling from the Ravens left a big overlap and a well weighted cross kick was gathered by Ryan Evans as the fullback went over for Bridgends first points of the game. Dixon missed the conversion as Bridgend started to close the gap.
Captain Ashleigh James was shown a yellow card just before the break, but no further scores came as the half dwindled out.

Bridgend showed their intent to win the match, tapping a penalty quickly and advanced toward the visitors try line. It was the impressive Andrew Waite that was able to fight his way over the line. Dixon converted to give the Ravens a 6 point lead late on.
It was to end in heartbreak for Bridgend however, as a late penalty kicked to the corner from Llanelli gave the visitors an opportunity to steal it late on. Llanelli captain Adam Powell was able to touch down as the clock hit 80. The conversion to win the game was very well struck by Gareth Walters as the visitors snatched a late win from the Ravens claws.
