Bridgend Ravens head to the Bridge Field on Saturday to face Bedwas in a crucial match in the battle to avoid relegation from the Principality Premiership (2:30pm).
Both sides are deadlocked on 43 league points, with the Ravens having played two games fewer than their opponents. Bridgend battled hard in their last outing but came up just short against Cardiff in the capital, losing 39pts to 30. Bedwas were humbled handsomely at home by North Walian powerhouse RGC 45pts to 17.
It was Bedwas who took the spoils when the sides met at the Morganstone Brewery Field earlier in the season. On a dismal evening for the Ravens, the visitors emerged 22pts to 16 victors. Bedwas have won four of the previous five clashes between the sides; including last seasons corresponding fixture by 41pts to 14.
On the whole, it's a case of same again for Matt Silva who sticks largely with the squad which performed so well in Cardiff. Owen Howe, Caine Woolerton and Aaron Grabham continue in the back three. Captain Nathan Edwards leads the side alongside Morgan Jones in the centre; Jamie Murphy and Chris Williams are the half backs.
Jordan Collier, Adam O’Driscoll and Dafi Davies make up a powerful back row. James Little and Ben Jones are the second row; Owen Jordan, Gareth Harvey and Cai Lewis the front row selection.
After a successful few weeks with Wales u20, Cai Evans is back in blue and white amongst Bridgend’s replacements.
