Bridgend Ravens are back at the Morganstone Brewery Field this evening for a Principality Premiership clash under the lights with Merthyr (7:15pm).
Both sides saw last weekend's Principality Premiership clashes cancelled due to the heavy snowfall. Bridgend were due to play Pontypridd at Sardis Road, with Merthyr set to face RGC.
The last time the Ironmen visited the Morganstone Brewery Field was back in 2016. Infront of a large crowd, Bridgend upset all odds to thump Merthyr 40pts to 10. Bridgend's tries that day were scored by Owain Lloyd, Ryan Griffiths, Joseph Gatt and Mike Powell with 20 points from the boot of man of the match Joseph Scrivens. Bridgend will know that they'll need a similar performance if they're to de-rail the champions again.
The sides met earlier this season infront of the ScrumV cameras. Bridgend were well in the tie at half time, trailing just 7-3, but a flurry at the start of the second half, and in the final ten minutes gave Merthyr a resounding 38pts to 16 victory.
Bridgend mainly stick with the side that was due to face Pontypridd in last weekend's cancelled Premiership match. Caine Woolerton, Morgan Jones and Mike Powell are selected in the back three. Stuart Floyd Ellis and Nathan Edwards again pair up in midfield. Jamie Murphy and Chris Williams are selected at half back.
There's a change in the back row with Dafi Davies, Jordan Collier and Adam O'Driscoll the powerful trio chosen. Jack Pope and Ben Jones continue their partnership in the second row, with Rhodri Apsee, Gareth Harvey and Cai Lewis the front row.
