Team to face Llandovery (A)

Bridgend Ravens head to Church Bank on Saturday afternoon to face Llandovery, looking for their third straight league victory (2:30pm).

It was a good week for Bridgend, who continued their improved performances with two important victories. Firstly, basement side Neath were disposed of by 21-15, before an attritional Brewery battle against Carmarthen Quins ended in an 11-6 victory.
If the Ravens are to succeed on Saturday, then it will be the club's first success over the Drovers since 2008. That game, also at Church Bank, was the clubs last win over Llandovery, with the Walians winning all but one game between the sides since that date (a drawn game at the Morganstone Brewery Field in 2014). Llandovery's dominance in this fixture has continued this campaign - winning 13-31 at the Morganstone Brewery Field in September, before a 31-10 success at Church Bank in November.
The Drovers current sit in eighth place, slightly behind the title chasing pack, with two games in hand. The suffered cup heartbreak on Saturday afternoon at the semi final stage, at the hands of Newport, but their last league outing saw them down Ebbw Vale by 17-6.
Matt Silva makes a few changes to the side which earned two victories last week. Aaron Grabham returns to the starting line up, to join up with Jonny Phillups and Michael Powell in the back three. Stuart Floyd Ellis and Jamie Murphy are paired in midfield, with Ryan Evans and Connor Tantum the half backs.
The back row combination of Dafi Davies, Zac O'Driscoll and Owain Lloyd gets another chance to impress, with Shaun O'Rourke making his first appearance of the season in the second row alongside Chris John. Ollie Evans, Dewi Lake and Cai Lewis are selected in the front row.
A new name for Bridgend supporters is second row Mathew Donnelly, who will make his debut for the club should he come off the replacements bench. Matthew is a product of Bridgend Sports and is the latest young talent to be given a chance at Principality Premiership level by Bridgend Ravens.
