Match Preview

Team to face Llanelli (A)

Bridgend Ravens head to Parc y Scarlets on Thursday evening, looking to continue to climb up the Principality Premiership standings (7:30pm).

Saturday's comprehensive win over Swansea, their fourth consecutive victory at the Morganstone Brewery Field, propelled them up to 11th in the current league standings. They sit one place and two points ahead of Thursday's opponents, although Llanelli do have a game in hand.

The sides have met twice this season, with the head to head at one win each. Bridgend won the first meeting, at the Morganstone Brewery Field 27pts to18. Debutant Harri Morgan scored two tries from the replacements bench on his senior debut to stun the Scarlets that afternoon. The reverse fixture at Parc y Scarlets was won by the home side by 23pts to 18. Garyn Daniel broke the deadlock, before Llanelli took control of the game and a ten point lead. The brave Ravens fought back to level with just minutes remaining, but a Kieran Martin infringement saw them reduced to 14 and gave Llanelli's pack the impetus. A 79th minute try from Nathan Hart earned the Scarlets the victory, avenging the earlier defeat of the season.

Bridgend's comfortable victory last time out sees Matt Silva keep faith with the majority of the starting lineup. Try scorers Jonny Phillips and Joseph Gatt retain their place in the back three with Mike Powell. Stuart Floyd Ellis and Nathan Edwards are selected in midfield, with Ryan Evans and Chris Williams the half backs.

Dafi Davies shakes off a knock to take his place at No 8 in a back row alongside Zac O'Driscoll and Owain Lloyd. Shaun O'Rourke and Chris John continue their blossoming partnership. Rhodri Apsee, Gareth Harvey and Cai Lewis comprise the front row.
