Bridgend Ravens travel to Bedwas on Saturday morning, looking for their first win since the division merged earlier this year (11am).
The game, brought forward to allow supporters to return home in time to watch Wales’ Six Nations clash with Ireland, is Bridgend’s first trip to the Bridge Field since 2016 when Bedwas came out comfortable 30-0 winners.
The sides met twice last season, both at the Brewery Field. Bridgend won the first tie by 26-20, before Bedwas won the Foster’s Cup semi final in handsome fashion by 14-55.
Bridgend make one change to the side that came so close to turning over Ebbw Vale in the last match. Jon Phillips continues at fullback, alongside Aaron Grabham and Joseph Gatt in the back three. Nathan Edwards and Jamie Murphy are selected in the centre, with Ryan Evans partnering Chris Williams, who will make his 100th Bridgend appearance at half back.
The pack remains unchanged – it’s a back row of Matthew John, Adam O’Driscoll and Dafi Davies. Kieran Martin and Chris John in the boiler house and Rhodri Apsee, Gareth Harvey and Cai Lewis in the front row.
Fresh from scoring 43 points last weekend for Penallta, Joseph Scrivens takes his place amongst the replacements looking to make his first Bridgend appearance since September.
