Bridgend Ravens host Llandovery in their first home game of the Principality Premiership season on Saturday (2:30pm).
The Drovers travel to the recently renamed Morganstone Brewery Field following an excellent 31-19 win over WRU National Cup winners RGC at Church Bank. Bridgend kicked off their campaign with a 40-15 defeat at Aberavon. There was much to take from defeat with the score line certainly flattering the host side.
Llandovery comprehensively dismissed Bridgend in the meeting between the sides during the first half of last season and the Ravens go in search of their first win against the West Walians since September 2008.
There are a few changes to the Bridgend Ravens side. Tyler Williams comes in for his first Ravens start at 15. He's joined by Aaron Grabham, who also makes his first competitive start for the club, and Ryan Griffiths in the back three. Joseph Gatt partners Nathan Edwards in midfield with Ryan Evans getting an opportunity at 10 after an impressive pre-season. Will Baird lines up at 9.
Up front, Rhodri Apsee and Cai Lewis are selected as the props with last week's try scorer, Iestyn Merriman in at hooker. Voted Supporters' Man of the Match last weekend, Kieran Martin gets a chance from the start alongside Jack Pope in the boiler house. The side is captained by Adam O'Driscoll who joins Gareth Beer and Ashton Evans in the back row.
