Neath (H) Match Preview

Bridgend Ravens will be looking to bounce back from their shock SWALEC Cup exit at the hands of Bargoed last weekend when they host Neath at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field this Saturday at the earlier time of 11.30am.

The Ravens will be on the hunt for their fourth straight victory over the Welsh All Blacks with a win carrying the added incentive of staying above Neath in the Principality Premiership table and continuing to lead the Ospreys-region clubs at the bottom.

After the Neath match, the Ravens will face Newport and Swansea and all three of these fixtures went the way of Bridgend when the sides met in the first half of the season. Taking 12 to 15 points back to the RHBF would be a big boost in the latter stages of the campaign and could propel the side up towards mid-table – a position that would be more appropriate for some of the rugby played by the squad this year.

The side to face Neath is similar to last weekend’s but head coach Ben Rose has made a handful of changes. Shaun O’Rourke starts at lock with Owain Lloyd moving to the flank and Andrew Waite dropping to the bench, while Tom Morgan gets the nod ahead of Scott Hicks at Number 8.

Tom Grabham or Ben Ellis will replace Glen Holloway and complete the halfback partnership with Lewis Williams, with Glen Lewis coming in to the starting XV on the wing.
